JACK LECOMPTE   (MUSICIAN - DRUMS)

 

Ask anyone and they’ll tell you – “Jack LeCompte is straight ahead”.

JACK LE COMPTE, accomplished drummer, is our gift from Philadelphia.  At age thirteen, Jack began formal lessons.  Le Compte completed studies at the Philadelphia School of the Arts.  He attributes his love and knowledge of the drums to his teacher, Carl Matolla, a renowned Philly musician.  Jack came to the Los Angeles area in 1980.  In addition to performing, Jack is a member of the afterschool program mentoring students and performs for the Music Center on tour, bringing jazz to the Los Angeles School District.

MUSIC TEACHING EXPERIENCE

MUSIC CENTER ON TOUR with 2000 Grammy nominee Bobby Rodriguez and the Jazz Adventure – bringing jazz education and history to the Los Angeles County Schools.  Performing over 100 concerts per year for over 15 years, reaching students from K thru 12. He presently conducts after-school percussion classes for LACER (Los Angeles Center for Educational Research) within the L.A. Unified School District.  Additionally, Jack serves as in-class Orchestral Percussion coach for the Irving Middle School Concert Band, LAUSD.
